When Adveit joined Mentor Match, one of the biggest areas of focus was building his confidence while strengthening his understanding of basic Mathematics concepts.
Rather than rushing through the syllabus, the focus was on identifying the areas where he needed support and working through them step by step. The goal was to help Adveit understand the concepts clearly, practise them consistently, and gradually become more confident in solving questions independently.
Adveit’s learning followed a structured approach focused on strong foundations, personalised practice, and confidence-building.
Strengthening the basics. The first step was identifying the areas where Adveit needed additional support and building a clear understanding of the fundamentals.
Concept-based practice. Each concept was reinforced through regular practice, helping him move from understanding an idea to applying it confidently.
Gradually increasing difficulty. Questions started at a comfortable level and became progressively more challenging as Adveit’s understanding and confidence grew.
Encouraging explanation. Adveit was encouraged to explain how he arrived at his answers. This helped him think through his approach, identify mistakes, and develop a deeper understanding.
Regular revision. Topics were revisited whenever gaps appeared, ensuring that concepts were reinforced and remained fresh.
Parent collaboration. Regular communication between the tutor and parent helped maintain consistency and ensured that additional attention was given to areas where Adveit needed further support.
Adveit scored 95/100 in Mathematics and achieved the highest grade in his class.
The result reflected not only his academic progress, but also the confidence he developed in his ability to understand concepts, approach questions, and explain his thinking.

Adveit’s progress was built through consistent practice, personalised support, and a growing belief in his own abilities.
Adveit’s journey shows that strong foundations and confidence can make a meaningful difference, especially in the early years of learning.
His 95/100 and highest grade in class are a reflection of his consistent effort, regular practice, personalised support, and growing confidence in Mathematics.
