From 3 to 8: Alia’s English Journey

The Challenge

When Alia began her English journey, the focus was on strengthening her reading skills and building confidence in comprehension and written expression. Developing stronger vocabulary and becoming more engaged with reading were also important parts of her progress.

The Result

Alia’s NGRT score increased from 3 in Year 3 to 8 in Year 4, representing a 5-point improvement and a significant shift in her reading performance.

Her Year 4 report records her as Working Well (WW) in both English Reading and Writing. Her engagement also progressed from Participating to Investing.

Her progress was reflected in reading performance, comprehension, written expression, confidence, and engagement.
