When Farida first started learning with Mentor Match, one of the biggest areas of focus was conceptual clarity. She needed to strengthen her understanding of the fundamentals before moving towards more advanced problem-solving.
The goal wasn't simply to practise more questions — it was to help Farida understand the concept, understand what the question was asking, and most importantly, connect the two.
Once this foundation was established, the focus shifted towards rigorous practice, helping her become more confident and accurate across different levels of questions.
Farida's learning followed a structured approach built around conceptual understanding, practice, and continuous revision.
Building conceptual clarity. Before moving towards challenging problems, Farida worked on strengthening her understanding of the fundamentals and making clear connections between concepts.
Rigorous topic-wise practice. She worked through questions ranging from easy to difficult levels, gradually building the confidence and accuracy needed to tackle more complex problems.
Active recall. Concepts were regularly revisited during sessions through active recall, helping Farida strengthen her retention and recall of important ideas.
Revisiting older topics. Previously completed topics were regularly brought back into practice. This helped ensure that earlier learning remained fresh rather than being forgotten as new concepts were introduced.
End-of-class recap. Every session ended with a recap of the key concepts covered, giving Farida an opportunity to consolidate her learning and identify anything that needed further clarification.
