That “perfect” IGCSE Physics revision website could be completely useless for your child. 

It has clear explanations, practice questions, and glowing reviews, until you realise it only covers UK GCSE content.

That’s the problem with most “15 best IGCSE revision websites” lists.

Nearly all of them are sorted by what a site is- notes, videos, flashcards, past papers, and almost none by whether it covers your child's subject on your child's exam board.

Start With Your IGCSE Exam Board, Not the Platform

There are three main international boards: 

• Cambridge International: Cambridge IGCSE. Syllabus codes are four digits, like 0580 for Mathematics.
• Pearson Edexcel: International GCSE. Codes look like 4EA1 for English Language A.
• OxfordAQA: International GCSE. 

They are not interchangeable. 

Cambridge alone offers 70 subjects, including 30 languages, and schools can combine however they like. 

So "IGCSE Chemistry" on one board is not the same syllabus, the same paper or the same mark scheme as on another.

Here's how to check, in about 5 minutes:

• Find the syllabus code on your child's timetable, past assessment or report
• Ask the exams officer directly if it isn't written down anywhere
• Search that code on any platform before revising from it
• If the site doesn't name it, don't assume it covers it

4. One-to-one IGCSE tutoring. The only tier where someone reads your child's actual work and diagnoses where the gaps are. 

Worth the money, once you know which of the first three has stopped moving the grade.

4 Checks, to Confirm the Platform Covers Your IGCSE Subject

About a minute each. Run them before you bookmark anything.

1. Does it name your board and syllabus code: 

"IGCSE Biology" isn't enough. "Cambridge IGCSE Biology" with the subject code is.

2. Does it cover the tier your child sits: 

Core and Extended are different papers, and a site built only for Extended will quietly mislead a Core student.

3. Does it include the practical and coursework components: 

Most free video platforms cover theory only, and the practical paper is where a lot of science marks quietly disappear.

4. Is anyone actually marking the work:

A question bank shows your child the right answer. It doesn't tell them why they lost three marks out of six on their own answer.

The first three you can do yourself this afternoon.
